Call to Action: support Personal Care Service agencies request for additional funding

If you are comfortable forwarding this. Please do. Action needed this week.

The Idaho Association of Homecare Agencies, represents personal care services organizations throughout Idaho.  The members and lobbyist have been working diligently with our State Legislators on the approval for ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding for Home and Community Based Services.

Idaho Health and Welfare originally did not put in the request for HCBS to participate in this funding due to lack of CMS guidance. Luckily with the help of our lobbyist and our current relationship with legislators, representatives of JFAC stepped up and encouraged Health and Welfare to address this funding for HCBS.

On Thursday JFAC met at 8AM to review the request, it was voted on, and passed. As of today, it was pushed to the house, HB 382, it was voted on and passed with 57 in support of the bill. This HB will now go on to the senate. We will most likely have news by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Kelly Jepson with Bright Spring has developed an independent site to facilitate grassroots outreach to legislators. The site is listed below, and we encourage you to participate and share with your networks to get the messaging out to support HB 382.

Please join the grassroots outreach and support this endeavor by contacting the legislature:
